Security & data protection

You're trusting us with sensitive information. We take that seriously.

Financial records and identity documents deserve real protection — not an afterthought. Here's how we keep your information safe, in plain language.

Safeguards

The safeguards in place.

  • Encryption in transit and at rest. Documents you share are encrypted while moving and while stored.
  • Multi-factor authentication. Access to your client portal requires more than just a password.
  • Access controls. Only people who need your information to do the work can reach it.
  • Secure document exchange. You upload records through the portal — never as loose email attachments.

Standards

Built around real requirements.

As a CPA firm, we're expected to protect taxpayer data — and we build our practices around that responsibility.
  • IRS Publication 4557 (Safeguarding Taxpayer Data) sets out how tax professionals should protect client information. We follow practices aligned with it.
  • The FTC Safeguards Rule requires firms like ours to maintain reasonable safeguards for customer information. We take that seriously, from how we store documents to who can access them.

We describe these honestly: they reflect the safeguards we maintain, not a certification we're claiming.

The portal

One secure place for everything.

When you work with us, your documents, signatures, and messages live in an encrypted client portal — not scattered across email threads. That means:
  • Your sensitive records aren't sitting in an inbox
  • You can find and share documents in one place
  • Signatures and approvals happen securely

See how the portal works on our Client Portal page.

Your part

How you help keep your data safe.

  • Use the portal for anything sensitive — please don’t email or message us passports, SSNs, or financial records.
  • Protect your login. Use a strong, unique password and keep multi-factor authentication on.
  • Tell us fast if you ever suspect a problem with your account.

Data handling

Collection and retention.

We collect only what we need to do your work and meet our professional and legal obligations, and we retain records as required. For the full details on what we collect, how we use it, and your choices, see our Privacy Policy.
